In addition to cheap property prices, a number of factors make Turkey a real property hotspot, making Turkey property an Ideal property investment opportunity. These are a few reasons why:

FAST GROWING ECONOMY: Turkey joining the EU may be a few years away but the Turkish government continues to build reforms, resulting in inflation falling and foreign exchange and interest rates becoming more competitive. Turkey boasts one of the world’s fastest growing economies and inflation is at its lowest since the 1970’s.
- NEW “MORTGAGE LAW” - PRICES EXPECTED TO SOAR AS PROPERTY DEMAND SET TO ROCKET: Dubbed the 'Mortgage Law' this legislation paves the way for Turkish people to take out mortgages for the 1st time – no longer having to rely on family borrowings or expensive short-term non-mortgage loans from banks. With a very strong ownership culture, the ratio of home loans to national revenue is forecast to rise from 4.5% to 12% by 2015, as a result of the Mortgage Law. The legislation is regarded as one of the biggest reforms in the Turkish financial system ever and is highly likely to kick start the Turkish property market as demand is set to go through the roof. Property Prices are certainly likely to follow! This is further believed when you consider that housing supply in Turkey currently lags behind the demand and the average age of houses in Turkey suggests that there is a strong need for new developments!
- TAX ADVANTAGES: There is also no capital gains tax if you keep hold of the property for over 5 years
- A COMBINATION OF MODERN LIVING & OLD WORLD CHARM: Turkey is steeped in history and boasts something for evreyone - stunning beaches, fantastic cuisine, cosmopolitan bars and clubs alongside traditional Turkish cafes, bustling cities and quaint fishing villages, a wonderful climate, low cost of living and warm friendly locals!
- GROWTH IN TOURISM: In 2006, more than 19M tourists visited Turkey and this grew to more than 25M will visit in 2007. This figure is expected to double within a few years, which will contribute to the property market in Turkey. Also good news, for property owners looking to rent out their Turkey property!
- INVESTMENT IN TOURISM: Turkey has a 20 year tourism plan with new golf courses and marinas already under construction. Road networks are being improved and hospitals and schools are receiving more funding.
- LOW COST FLIGHTS: As with all hot sports, the arrival of low cost airlines will create an increase in popularity and prices. Thomsonfly, Avro and Mytravellite already fly to the southwest and Easyjet fly to Istanbul.
It's no surprise that many of the coastal resort areas are reporting house price rises and that “A Place in the Sun” presenter Amanda Lamb, voted Turkey as the third best place to buy a property in the Sun!
